Sharp SJC118 110L R600A Chest Freezer

After 15 years, my old freezer has reach its limits. The door  wont close anymore and its not as cold as its used to inside the freezer. So last month, my parents went to a mall not so far from our house and brought a new one. We have decided to brought this Sharp SJC118 110L R600A Chest Freezer. the price of this freezer is around Rm700+. This freezer is a little bit different from any freezer. I will state later on why.

This freezer has a 5 year warranty. Which also means that if anything happens to the freezer you can take it to a Sharp Services Centre to get it fixed up for free.

As you can see from the picture above, this freezer has a lot of benefits in it. One of it is that this freezer has a fast freezing function on. It can freeze up to -18°C which almost feels like Canada during day time. 

A part from that, this freezer is very durable & easy to clean. What? Don't believe me? Before I took these pictures I just use a wet white cloth to wipe it and it look as shinny as a new pin. 

Last but no least, it has a dual cooling function likewise. This means that it can switch to freezing or cooling based on the button. I suggest you stored the meats in the deeper part of the freezer as it is very cold below compared to the upper part. I will elaborate further later on.

Facts about C5H10

The reason why the bottom part was cold is because of this isomers(each of two or more compounds with the same formula but a different arrangement of atoms .) C5H10 is known as Cyclopentane. Cyclopentane is a highly flammable alicyclic hydrocarbon which is why there is a flammable sign beside it. This freezer cannot be place near flammable stuff since it can be easily combusted causes fire or explosion. This isomer is also very dense with a density of 0.751 g/cm3. Which means that the deeper the freezer the colder it gets.

For anyone who was wondering how does a fridge or a freezer work. There is a compressor below the fridge or the freezer. The cooling pipe is connected to the compressor that sucks in vapour from the cooling pipe. This process make more liquid turn into vapour, and when that happens it absorb some heat out of the freezer. Just like sweat lower your body temperature, this vapour floating away makes the inside of the freezer cold. Therefore, when you went passed or back of the freezer. its will always be hot.

As a conclusion personally I think this freezer is ok. It has its pros and cons.  For an example, it can freeze the meat very fast and it can last long up to 1-2 month but the electricity wont be cheap.
