Is the AU75 Worth It? My Honest Keyboard Review

I have always wanted to buy a mechanical keyboard ever since I have my own laptop. The keyboard on the laptop is usable but is not satisfying enough for me. That's why I brought a mechanical keyboard. The keyboard I brought is the AULA AU75 3 in 1 Hot-Swappable RGB Gasket Mechanical Keyboard.  I have been using it for 3 months now. I will give some personal opinion of this keyboard below.

This keyboard has benefited me ever since I brought it.

1) Three connection modes

It can switch between Bluetooth, 2.4G (USB dongle), and Type-C (wired).

  • Bluetooth (my favourite):
It keeps my desk neat and tidy because there are no cables. The connection is also stable and doesn’t lag.

  • Downside of Bluetooth:
The battery will eventually run out. For me, it usually lasts about one week.

  • Type-C (wired backup):
When the battery is low, I can plug it in and use it like a normal keyboard while charging. This saves time because I don’t need to stop using it.

2) Multimedia volume knob

The keyboard has a multimedia knob for volume control.

  • It’s not a “special” feature, but it’s very convenient.

  • I can adjust the volume quickly without moving my mouse.

3) Quiet “clicks” for typing

The most important feature for me is the typing sound.

  • Unlike many mechanical keyboards, this one is much quieter.

  • The sound is more like an improved version of a normal keyboard.

  • Because it’s quiet, it’s more suitable for an office and won’t annoy people easily.

4) Easy to clean (and comes with extras)

This keyboard is easy to clean because it comes with a clean-up kit. It also includes spare keys, which is helpful in case I accidentally break or damage a key.

5) It has many variety of light pattern and functions

The keyboard is a RBG keyboard which means it has rainbow lights when pressed. The keyboard has many pattern that I lost track of what pattern I am using right now.

Things I don’t like about this keyboard

1) Expensive

One downside is the price. I prefer buying from a physical store, and I bought mine for RM277. Even online, the cheapest is usually still RM200+. Because of that, I think buyers should be careful—anything below RM200 could be suspicious and risky.

2) Gets dirty easily (for me)

Another issue is that it gets dirty quite easily. Dirt and dust can build up, so I often need to remove the keycaps and clean inside the keyboard. This cleaning can take time.

Because it gets dirty easily and needs deeper cleaning, this keyboard requires more maintenance than a normal keyboard. If someone wants something low-maintenance, they might find the upkeep a bit troublesome.

Conclusion

Overall, this keyboard is good ONLY if you use it every day. It is easy to connect, quiet for typing, and convenient with the volume knob and cleaning kit. However, it is rather expensive and needs regular cleaning. If you don’t mind the price and maintenance, it is a solid keyboard for work. For me I think it is wise to survey different store or wait for discount when buying this keyboard. Some may argue that this keyboard is not worth it but personally I did not regret buying this keyboard.
